Research Project


The construction of microelectrodes and their use in SECM and SECCM.

This post-doctoral research project focuses on the development and application of electrochemical microelectrodes for high-resolution studies using Scanning Electrochemical Microscopy (SECM) and Scanning Electrochemical Cell Microscopy (SECCM). SECM is a powerful technique that utilizes a microelectrode as a scanning probe to map local electrochemical activity near a surface, allowing for the investigation
of heterogeneous electron transfer processes and surface reactivity. SECCM, in turn, uses a pipette filled with electrolyte to form a confined meniscus cell at the substrate, allowing localized electrochemical measurements with high spatial resolution and minimal sample preparation.
